Luuk Sengers

Journalist

Luuk Sengers is an investigative environment reporter and journalism lecturer. He wrote a handbook (in Dutch) about investigative reporting: “Onderzoeksjournalistiek. Researchproces van idee tot verhaal” and he contributed to the Unesco manual “Story-Based Inquiry: A Manual for Investigative Journalists” (2009). Together with Mark Lee Hunter he teaches the story-based inquiry method to reporters in newsrooms and at international conferences and summer schools. His other specialties are data journalism, internet and interview techniques. Luuk worked as a full-time reporter at national newspapers and magazines in The Netherlands (among others NRC Handelsblad, business magazine Quote and the weekly Intermediair) for sixteen years, before he became an independent reporter and lecturer. He was on the board of the Dutch-Flemish association of investigative journalists (VVOJ) for eight years and is a member of the Global Investigative Journalism Network.
