David Kaplan
Global Investigative Journalism Network
David Kaplan is an investigative journalist and media consultant based in Washington, D.C. His work currently focuses on establishing the first secretariat for the Global Investigative Journalism Network, an association of more than 50 nonprofit organizations worldwide dedicated to investigative reporting. He is former director of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists and chief investigative correspondent with the newsweekly U.S. News & World Report. Over a 30-year career Kaplan has won more than 20 awards. Among his books is YAKUZA, widely considered the standard work on the Japanese mafia.
